In memory of Dr. Ohno
We invite and welcome you to the Special Symposium in Commemoration of Dr. Susumu Ohno. Dr. Ohno was a trailblazing scientist in the fields of genetics and evolutionary biology as well as reproductive science and immunology. An innovative thinker driven by his desire to understand the patterns that govern life, his insights into the genome evolution outlined in “Evolution by Gene Duplication” (1970) constituted one of the principal molecular evolution paradigms that continue to shape, inform and stimulate ongoing research.
This symposium was originally planned live for March 2020 --- but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to present it as a compendium of video presentations celebrating Dr. Ohno and his work. These video presentations will be available for two years (until December 2024).
